Progression in Ledgerbound runs on a corporate currency: company vouchers. Here is how the economy works and how to spend wisely.

Where vouchers come from

You earn vouchers by completing optional objectives — framed as HR objectives — during missions. Clearing the stage gets you through; clearing it well, by hitting the optional goals, pays out the currency that makes you stronger. That’s the core loop: optional play funds your upgrades. What you spend them on

Vouchers buy corporate gear — equipment that boosts stats. Gear is the main lever for making your party hit harder, survive longer, or shore up a weak role, between the fixed beats of the story.

How to prioritize

Until the full gear list is confirmed, these principles hold for any tactics RPG with this structure:

1. Patch your worst matchup first. If your team folds to Fire enemies, gear up the Water units that answer them.
2. Buy for roles, not favorites. A durable frontliner and a reliable damage dealer beat three glass cannons.
3. Don’t hoard. Vouchers spent on a timely upgrade clear content that earns more vouchers. Sitting on currency is lost progress.
4. Account for the Vacari scaling up. Since enemies return tougher, steady gear investment keeps pace better than saving for one big purchase.

How it ties into combat

Gear interacts with the element triangle and Sigils: a stat boost that turns a coin-flip matchup into a reliable win, or lets a unit survive a turn on a hostile Sigil, is worth more than the raw numbers suggest. Plan purchases around the fights you’re actually struggling with.
